Sheffield's Golden Frame

04th May 2007
Sigma Books will publish Bill's next book about the landscape history of Peak District moorlands.

Bill has just finished writing and taking photographs for the book which is due out in September 2007. The book is a short, accessible guide to the historic moorlands of Burbage, Houndkirk and Longshaw just outside Sheffield.

Based on his archaeological survey, the book takes the reader on a journey from prehistory to World War 2. It also includes 6 guided walks.

The book will be fully illustrated with Bill's own colour photographs along with a number of B&W archive prints and 5 images from Living Art's Heaven and Heath exhibition. Also included are photographs, paintings and poems which won an open arts contest in 2006.

Bill has written Sheffield's Golden Frame as an employee of the Peak District National Park Authority. It is based on his archaeological survey of Burbage undertaken for Moors for the Future - http://www.moorsforthefuture.org.uk - with the assistance of Peak Experience - http://www.peak-experience.org.uk.
