Walk Into Prehistory in Ireland

18th May 2010

Bill is currently touring Ireland to take photographs and write the Ireland section of his forthcoming book on the ancient monuments of Britain and Ireland. He began the project on a snowy Mam Tor, situated in his own backyard of the Peak District National Park. After successful visits to Avebury (Wiltshire), Chysastaur (Cornwall), Grimspound (Devon) and Maiden Castle (Dorset), Bill is now on a marathon circuit of Ireland. With a tight schedule he is hoping for good weather. He began at Ireland's most famous megalithic monument - Bru na Boinne - graced with gorgeous light and striking cloudscapes.

Bill will post a few highlights on this website from selected sites over the next few months.

Walk Into Prehistory will be published by Frances Lincoln in July 2011.
